Lotsa losses (9 v 2) since my last update. Down over 50%, but still up overall. 29 Wins, 24 Losses. Let's see where this goes!

Another 3 wins out of 4 in the past 2 weeks. 2 open trades in the black for $400 right now.

Still doing 2 contracts, 4 maj pairs, looking for the bounce in direction of 1-day EMA (8, 20, 50), setting orders for 5 mins a day. No orders if no EMA gradient. TP at nearest high/low or mid-past next EMA line, SL at mid-past next EMA line.

 Keep it going EMA Bounce! 3 out of 4 wins in the past 2 weeks. Lotsa missed opportunities cos I don't stare at charts, but once again, we'll see how it goes :)

EMA Bounce Strategy Update (25 Apr 22 - 30 Jun 22)

 7 losses! But bounced back with 4 wins. Keep on trudging! 45% gains after 2 months and 34 trades.

EMA Bounce Strategy

 Encouraging results after a month plus. Let's see where this goes!

1. Start with 25k

2. 2 Contracts at any time.

3. 4 pairs at all times - AUD/USD; EUR/USD, USD/JPY, EUR/GBP (these have the lowest spread on IG trading, my chosen platform)

4. Set 8, 20, 50 EMA.

5. Place orders off the bouncing 8 or 20 EMA, in accordance to the 50 EMA trend.

6. SL at the 50 EMA, TP at 1:1.

So far, it's really been 5-10 mins a day, just to set new orders, or adjust existing orders. Gone from 25k to 34k since 25 Apr 2022. 38% in about a month plus, with highly sustainable trading habits - literally 5-10mins a day. In fact, writing this post probably takes longer!

Only problem is I've had too many wins, so I'm not sure if I'll get into another 9 loss streak a la pivot bounce strategy. So far, 15 wins to 6 losses, with no more than 2 losses in a row. Average loss is around 95 pips, average win is around 70 pips (but that includes the 3 trades which I manually closed cos I wasn't sure of the trend - i.e. trades 14, 15 and 20).

Crypto Earn Miners Scam Alert

If you see this group on Telegram, it's an ultimate scam.

You first decide on the plan you want. Say 100 USD, which would net you 400 USD in 24hrs.

Seems legit cos there are tonnes of people on the chat showing successful withdrawals.

You can even PM those "people" and they'd say it works, even though it seems dodgy at first.

So after you deposit 100 USD, you are informed there is an additional 95 USD one time registration fee. So you pay it.

Then you are informed of a 202 USD one time service fee. So you pay it.

Then you are informed of a 399 USD one time withdrawal fee. That's when I had enough. I was willing to wager 400 USD on a jackpot. Nothing more.

And when I called them out on this, they banned me from the group! 

The thing is, such profits are actually possible. I know it cos I've lived it (short term). But it's about having a winning system (which I don't have yet), so someone might just be "the one".

Well. Crypto Earn Miners ain't the one.

Too busy! EMA Bounce Strategy

Haven't had the time to pursue this, what with COVID and all. But if I'm ever gonna take the leap, this is gonna be my go to strategy:

1-day time frame, EMA 8, 20, 50. Just wait and trade off the bounce. SL at the higher line, TP when a crossover happens. This requires monitoring, so I can't trial the strategy while working. But just looking back a couple a months, it seems like it'd work. Just gotta maintain discipline.

When to take the plunge???

Tweaked New Strategy - EMA Bounce

Really couldn't sustain the staring at the charts for an hour a night. So I reverted to a fire and forget SL/TP strategy. But I like the 10m time frame, so I kept that. I then used EMAs and traded off the bounce towards a generic resistance or support level. Results so far have been... encouraging! 35.5% in a week!

New Strategy

Haha. Like a dog after its own vomit, I'm back with a new strategy! Using 10-min timeframe, just follow the trend of HH and LL. Fixed profit margin of 1% per trading day. SL once no more HH and LL, so losses can vary. However, will take the next trade with double the contracts (martingale strategy). I also try to observe actively where possible, which is the key difference compared to previous strategy which used a fire-and-forget modality. This enables me to limit losses at times. So far, have recovered losses within one trade. system has yet to prove itself in a double-loss scenario. Been at it almost daily for almost 2 weeks, so it's been a pretty fair test so far. Trade safe!

Up 13% after 3 months. Now all that's left is to attempt an actual withdrawal, and we'll know if it's all a farce!

Success found?

Finally after a long hiatus, I'm back!

Decided that no way I can succeed if not full time. So gave up on a personal journey. I then found a copy trading service that seemed pretty reputable. Decided to put my eggs in that basket.

Small limited exposure per trade. No overtrading. 30% stop loss on your overall account. 6 month lock-in period on initial investment.

It's been a month, and I'm up 3.83%. Fantastic. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Ready to go big?

So after my first loss in the latest strategy (1 trade a day), I tried to mix it up by increasing the number of trades per day. I went on a 9 trade win, and hit yet another loss. I then tried to adjust my TP to 5 pips instead of 2. 1 win and 1 loss. And now I'm back to square one.

I think this just validates 1 thing - overtrading is a problem for this high risk strategy. I gotta stick to 1 trade a day. Next, I think I'll incorporate a double down approach to deal with losses. E.g. holding a large enough account to trade on 1 contract, but when I lose, trade 2 or 3 contracts to get back the losses, before reverting to 1 CO tract.

Profits would be slower, but perhaps more stomachable? Trade safe!

Latest Strategy Performance - Loss

Have reverted to my original strategy of high leverage 2-pip scalping. 1 mini-lot on AUD/USD per trade. The difference this time is that I have a stop of 20 pips (vs no stops in the first instance). I also keep an eye on pivot points i.e. try not to trade at those levels.

I'm not sure if I've been trading better using the 30min timeframe, but I take heart that my positions are closing much faster on average (3.3% gains per trade). Here's how they've worked out so far:

Been simply using 30min bars, with higher/lower highs/lows to signal the direction of the trade, while making sure i'm not trading at a pivot level. Also keeping an eye on RSI. Keep those charts as clean as possible!

With 26 winning trades and 1 losing one, I'm still in the black since my R:R is 10:1 (33% capital risked). Can afford 1 losing trade and still come away with a healthy 20% profit.

Bad trading day

I opened a position that didn't close after 3hrs. Saw a 15% paper loss, that finally broke even, so I closed it out. I then took another trade, but because of the previous experience, I manually closed the position when it turned a profit. Had I let either position breathe, I would've gotten my auto-close ultimately. Hindsight is always 20/20 eh. Well, still in the black so all's good. Trade safe.

So far so good. What's been encouraging though is that I find myself reading the charts better. Using daily for the direction, using 30min for the entry. Sticking to AUD/USD only - 10:1 RR (20 stop, 2 limit).

Given up. Revert to previous strategy.

Strings of losses. Wiped out all profit.

Tried a R:R 1:10 strategy, but losses were really very fast and quick. And it's tiring to trade that on a demo account.

Now I'm back to my 1:10 strategy. Target 3.3% gains every day. Max drawdown of 33%. Use 30min timeframe on AUD/USD or EUD/USD. I suspect this is going to be the last I'll try before giving up on CFDs. Haha...

So far, have gained 10%. From $80 to $90.
